The M24 Light Tank was developed in the 1940s by Cadillac, a division of General Motors Corporation in the United States.
The M24 follows a conventional three-man turret configuration, with its interior divided into three compartments from front to rear: driver's compartment, fighting compartment, and engine compartment. The tank features a fixed commander's cupola with a rotating top hatch. An additional foldable seat is installed inside the turret for use by field commanders. The turret is armed with an anti-aircraft machine gun mounted at the rear and a main cannon in the center, complemented by a coaxial machine gun on the right side of the main armament.
Development of the M24 Light Tank began in March 1943, with the first prototype completed in October of the same year. After trial production of 24 units in April 1944, the vehicle was officially designated as the M24 Light Tank. By June 1945, a total of 4,070 M24 Light Tanks had been manufactured.
