As is well known, the AH-64D Apache is currently the most advanced dedicated attack helicopter in active service worldwide. Originally developed by Hughes Helicopters, this aircraft later became a product of McDonnell Douglas. Since 1997, following defense industry consolidation in the United States, it has been manufactured by Boeing.
The AH-64 Apache's development journey was far from smooth. First flown in 1975, this attack helicopter underwent years of rigorous testing before finally entering mass production in 1983. It wasn't until 1986 that the U.S. Army officially deployed the aircraft. Fortunately, during the 1991 Gulf War, the AH-64 Apache earned its legendary combat reputation, sparking a global buying frenzy. Numerous countries and regions surrounding China have since procured this model.
According to incomplete statistics, the global fleet of AH-64 Apache helicopters (including AH-64A/D/E variants) currently exceeds 2,000 units, making it one of the most widely operated attack helicopters in military history. Its combat-proven design continues to set the standard for modern aerial warfare.
