Meet the new 1/32 scale Firefly Vc tank, finally back to the original Forces of Valor expectation
We have consistently aspired to create a new British Firefly tank, as the version produced by Unimax Forces of Valor was indeed a remarkable subject. However, the approach taken was not particularly embraced by dedicated Forces of Valor fans. So, what precisely went awry?
Forces of Valor commenced its journey in 2003 with an innovative method of producing diecast military models. The turret cover, hull top, and gun barrel were all crafted from zinc metal, while less visible components, such as the chassis, were made from ABS plastic. This approach was likely the foundational principle of our brand and contributed to Forces of Valor's reputation as a prominent military collecting brand. However, this changed significantly after 2008, possibly due to the financial crisis. Since that time, Forces of Valor has completely overturned this methodology; instead of featuring metal components on the upper sections, there are now virtually no zinc metal parts visible on the surface. Everything has been substituted with ABS plastic, with the only remaining zinc metal components being the chassis and possibly the gun barrel.
Moreover, another hallmark of Forces of Valor—the intricate casting surface details—has been eliminated, resulting in a smooth surface reminiscent of modern vehicles. This likely marked the onset of the Dark Age for Forces of Valor, culminating in the brand's cessation in 2014.
We are pleased to share the following information regarding our new 1/32 scale Metal Proud Fireflies program:
In line with our previous Metal Proud release, each of our new models features the following components:
1 - A cast surface turret top crafted from zinc
2 - A cast surface hull top made from zinc
3 - A cast mantlet produced from zinc
4 - A CNC machined gun barrel constructed from aluminum
5 - The metal gun muzzle as a standard feature
The Fireflies series will include the following model variants:
1 - The Sherman Firefly Ic with a M4 Sherman hull top
2 - The Sherman Firefly Ic featuring a hybrid cast hull front with an angular hull rear
3 - The Sherman Firefly Vc
4 - The Sherman Firefly Vc equipped with mud guards

The CAD drawing is currently undergoing the "authenticity debugging" phase and is expected to be ready for transfer to our tool shop by mid-July 2025, with the hope of adhering to a production schedule before Christmas!
Stay tuned!
